How to Get the Most out of Your Scheduled Tree Service

Homeowners use tree services in one of two ways, emergency removal or seasonal upkeep. If you are using a tree service for seasonal upkeep, then you likely have a standing appointment. These appointments can get expensive, so you want to get the most out of the appointment as possible. Here are some ways to get the most out of your tree service appointment and give back a little to your landscaping in the process.

Wood Chipping

One of the first ways to get the most out of your tree service appointment is to ask them to chip any removed wood and return it to you. In essence, this means that there is no heavy debris for the contractor to haul off and you get mulch for your landscape. In some cases, you can receive a reduced fee on the appointment due to no longer needing removal of debris.

Tree Health Checks

You may have trees on your property that look healthy and beautiful, but could be facing serious issues. While you have the tree service contractors on-site, consider having them do a check of your larger trees. This check will let the contractors know if there are problems that may cause dead trees, infected tree trunks, or other issues. If a problem is found, you can work to resolve the issue or have the tree removed.

Tree Transplanting

If you have fruit trees that were purchased and grown in containers, you may be ready to transplant them to the landscape. You can take this scheduled appointment to have this done. Most tree services providers do offer a transplanting service that can be tagged onto current scheduled appointments. If you are concerned about the time frame the trees are transplanted, consider rescheduling your entire appointment for a time that is suitable for ideal fruit tree planting.

Stump Removal

You may have stumps that were left from shrubs or trees that need to be removed. If this is the case you can have the service remove the tree, chip what they can, and create firewood from the debris. This will give you the ability to have mulch, firewood, and the removal of the stump in one visit.

These are just four ways to get the most out of your scheduled tree service appointment. Ideally you want an appointment that maintains your trees, provides services to give you mulch or firewood, and to have as little debris actually removed from the property as possible. Contact your tree services provider  (such as Waratah Tree Services) if you are ready to schedule an appointment or ask about available services.
